Barrasford station and gunnerton railway circle

Gunnerton Railway Circle
Railway enthusiasts meet regularly at Gunnerton Church close to Barrasford.

The next meeting is on Monday 11 April 2005 and all are welcome to learn about railways "North of the Tyne" with Mr D.Tyreman. This will provide an insight in to the Border Counties Railway that once connected Barrasford, Gunnerton and Chollerton. Gunnerton Railway Circle meetings are usually held on 2nd Monday in each month. Contact Rob Gavan on 01434 689432 for more information.

This is followed on Monday 16 May 2005 with a study of the "Border Counties and related branches" by Mr W.Hampson. This Gunnerton Railway Circle meeting will include references to the former railway line that passed through the villages of Chollerton, Gunnerton and Barrasford.

Interesting topics covered by Gunnerton Railway Circle have included a study of narrow gauge railways on Lindesfarne and an entertaining entertaining session about the Newcastle to Carlisle railway.
